Hand print bunnies

Ok do you remember this post: Craft fail? Well...since the end result of that didn't turn out quite right, I began pondering on how to make use of that canvas. I didn't want to throw it away, and I didn't want repaint the whole thing since it was something my children made. So, since that egg throwing was an Easter type craft I decided to do another Easter craft on it. My daughter had fallen asleep early one night and my son was still awake, so I was trying to think of something that I could get him involved in.

I've been seeing lots of ideas for things to do with hand prints, so I thought it would be something cute for them to do themselves (with just a little assistance from me). Since this was going to be an Easter craft I settled on making bunnies. I painted their little fingers and palm and left the thumb unpainted. The little one got to make his mark on the wreck of a canvas. I helped fill in the little bunny ears with pink and made the whiskers. I let him paint his name by guiding his little fingers through the letters.

Today I let my daughter do her part, she was happy to be a part of the project but was in a hurry to get the paint off her hands. We did her hand and she used her finger-print to make the eyes and draw her name. I think it turned out pretty cute and, since I already had the canvas they painted during the egg throwing, it didn't cost me anything. I also thought it would make a cute gift to some family since they made this all on their own.

Here are my babies with their finished hand-print masterpiece!! :)
